Our Motivation
In creating a Flash web site for Make China Happen, we wanted to use a sharp, full-screen background photo of the client, Aaron Liu, to communicate the candid nature of his service. The problem with full screen background photos though is that photos are fixed in dimensions whereas web users’ browsers are not!

Having seen the seam carving YouTube video demonstrating this new imaging technique, we were curious how it worked. After much tinkering we developed an implementation of seam carving that allows real-time image resizing along both the x and y axes simultaneously.
