.rsiz

Seams used for resizing of background image at makechinahappen.com

To allow the flexible width of Aaron’s photo at makechinahappen.com, we store the seams associated with the photo in a special file with the .rsiz extension. We developed a Flash applet that takes the image file and the .rsiz file as input and allows real-time retargeting of the image to the desired dimensions. We’re still optimizing and finalizing things but we plan to release the Flash applet soon. When we release the applet, you’ll be able to create .rsiz files using rsizr.com for use on your web site along with the original image file.

If you’d like to receive a simple, one-time e-mail when we release the Flash applet, we’d be happy to do so:

We take privacy very seriously, so you can be sure your e-mail won’t be shared with anyone else and that we’ll delete your e-mail address from our database as soon as we send you the one message.
